Chad Stanton, owner of Stanton Fine Furniture and host of YouTube series ‘Wood Choppin’ Time”’ has dedicated a quarter of a century to perfecting the art of woodworking and sharing his knowledge with people around the world.

Ohio woodcraftsman Chad Stanton is celebrating his 25th year as a self-employed furniture maker. Over the span of a quarter of a century, Stanton has hosted two popular web series devoted to demonstrating the art of woodworking for viewers, written articles on the topic of woodworking, and written a book entitled ‘I Can Do That, 20 Easy Furniture Projects.’

Stanton launched Stanton Fine Furniture in 1998. Through his company, Stanton enlists the old style of traditional joinery to build legacy-grade furniture designed to last generations. Previous to starting his company, Stanton was finish carpenter and licensed conractor. This experience got him noticed and chosen as a spokesperson for Titebond and Irwin Tools; he was also host of the Craftsman Experience Show in Chicago, Illinois. While he’s comfortable with many aspects of home remodels and DIY projects, woodworking is Stanton’s favorite hobby.

His passion for woodworking has led to many successful avenues in his career, including serving as host of a video series by American Woodworker and authoring a long list of articles for magazines such as ‘American Woodworker’ and ‘Popular Woodworking.’ Stanton has also spent a total of six years teaching, demonstrating, and lecturing at schools and events across the United States. He has been a speaker for organizations such as The Society of Period Furniture Makers, The Home Builders Association, Habitat for Humanity Restore, and various other organizations and woodworking clubs.

Stanton’s YouTube series ‘Wood Choppin’ Time’ has gained 10 million views over the past 15 years, and he launched the video series ‘I Can Do That’ in 2018 to teach basic woodworking skills to viewers. The same year, Stanton was a guest on PBS’s ‘American Woodshop’ with Scott Phillips.

Stanton is committed to carrying on the traditions of woodworking and passing them along through others, whether through his fine furniture creations, speaking engagements, or DIY videos. He looks forward to creating new furniture and teaching new designs in 2023 and beyond. More information, including an online shop with some of Stanton’s works, can be found at
