Before Mahogany Mommies became a solace for many, it was first an outlet for Joi, who founded the brand while dealing with depression and struggling financially. As a teacher and mom of three, she realized the world needed a lot of positivity and a gentle nudge toward meaningful dialogue. Wanting to better her and her family’s life, she launched Mahogany Mommies using rent money and hoped to catch a break.

Featuring a range of collections, like the famous Drink Water collection, Mahogany Mommies quickly became a movement. Each t-shirt features carefully thought-out designs with thought-provoking messages and inspiring quotes that champion self-expression and connection.
