Capucia Publishing Announces Latest Release, Unmasked
Aug 25, 2022 – Childhood wounds can have life-long repercussions, a theme explored in Capucia Publishing’s latest release, Unmasked – A Triumphant Memoir of Recovery from Childhood Trauma, Eating Disorder, and PTSD by first-time author, Ingrid Christine Abild-Pedersen.
Unmasked is the true story of Abild-Pedersen’s struggles with an eating disorder, post-traumatic stress and physical ailments caused by childhood trauma. For years, she wallowed in the quagmire of old pains and hurt, her doctors stymied by medical mysteries unable to explain what was causing her symptoms.
Throughout the pages, Abild-Pedersen revisits her search for answers that lead to repressed childhood trauma. She reveals how she broke old patterns, dealt with hard emotions, and healed her childhood traumas which in turn relieved her of the physical and mental pain she was in so that she could move forward into a place of joy to live an amazing, fulfilled life.
“A compelling look into one woman’s triumphant victory over what once seemed insurmountable,” says psychotherapist, Erika Bent, LPCC, LMFT, CEDS-S. “Ingrid’s telling of her own recovery story, coupled with her professional lens, is invaluable to anyone recovering from childhood trauma.”
Abild-Pedersen wrote Unmasked with the hope to spread awareness of the connection between childhood trauma, physical symptoms, and mental health. Her true victim-to-victory story will hopefully give those who are living in emotional or physical pain caused by childhood trauma the strength to seek out help so that they too can find the peace they need and deserve.
