The Health Tech Company Responds to the Call of the Latin American Agri-Foods Council to Aid Communities In Need of Healthcare Assistance

Bringing quality health services to the millions living in their rural regions is a challenge long been faced by Mexico and Latin America. Jacobo Efraín Cabrera Palos, President of the National Association of Agri-Food Councils of Mexico, cites that these communities are mainly composed of farmers and laborers with their families who struggle with the lack of health facilities, supplies, and service providers.

However, much-needed reinforcement is now coming with the intervention of health tech company, SwyftCare. A recognized leader in the field of Telemedicine, SwyftCare has committed to bringing its services to support the cause.

“Our mission is to make healthcare accessible, especially in rural areas and underserved communities,” explains SwyftCare CEO, Yasser Almuaala. “Many of the agricultural employees of Mexico and Latin America live in areas where they might not have medical providers within a reasonable distance. We are committed to ensuring that they have access to healthcare and that it is at their fingertips when they need it.”

The company introduces innovative solutions by fusing expert health care with state-of-the-art technology. It aims to bridge the gap between people and their needed medical services through virtual communication and medication management. SwyftCare’s operation is backed by its vast network of medical professionals, pharmaceutical centers, clinics, and laboratories ready to respond on call.

Through the SwyftCare technology, services will be made available primarily by mobile phone or computer but also through physical locations. Stations called “Puntos Salud” are to be established in strategic locations where community members can receive low-cost consultations from telemedicine professionals. Services will include preventive and specialized treatments addressing common health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and nutritional issues.

The first stations are set to be built beginning in Tapachula, Chiapas, and other locations in Mexico as well regions in Colombia and Central America.

The collaboration was made official upon signing of the agreement during the Third Mesoamerican Congress of Agrifood Councils last September 8th to 9th. Held in the Port of Ensenada, Baja California, the congress was organized by the councils of Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and the twenty-eight states of the Mexican Republic.

According to the council members, the program will have a life-changing impact not only on their agricultural workers but on the children, women, and elderly of the localities as well.
